A bookmaking studio housed beneath a canopy of stately oaks, Oak Tree Book Arts creates one of a kind blank books, journals, and boxes. Embracing the ethos of “slow” culture, my books offer an alternative to the soulless, mass-produced paper goods that are so cheaply and readily available today. I believe a handmade book invites writers to engage viscerally with its tactile nature, to turn pages slowly and pay attention to their own thoughts and inspiration. I’ve recently begun experimenting with letterpress printing, and I plan to include creative writing prompts, inspiring quotations, and literary passages into future books and journals, thereby offering writers some focus and direction for their thoughts.
